What is a 'unique visit'?

A number of Cashbag advertisers offer cashback based on a 'unique visit'.

Though there is no definative explanation, a 'unique visit' typically means "one visit per IP address per day".

Some members share the same IP address as other members, e.g. members who work in the same office, or for the same company and use the same network. This means that you may find that on some days you don't earn any cashback at all from a particular advertiser if someone else using the same IP address as yourself has already visited the advertisers website. On the other hand you may find that on other days you earn cashback more than once, depending on which computer you are using and whether your Internet Service Provider uses dynamic IP addresses (where your IP address changes throughout the day).

As the answer to the question "What is a unique visit?" is different for everyone it may be a case of trial and error to find out how it works for you.

Making Sure You Earn Cash Back
Important Information Regarding Ad Blocking Software

Most Cashbag members don't have a problem earning cash back, however if you use Norton Internet Security or Zone Alarm Pro you may need to adjust some of your settings.

If you have either of the above installed on your PC, please follow these instructions:

1. Norton Internet Security (including Norton Antivirus and Personal Firewall)

Please disable the "ad-blocking" feature. Turning off this feature will NOT affect the workings of your anti-virus and/or firewall programme. To do this please double click on the green 'globe' icon which is displayed in your taskbar in the bottom right of your screen. Norton will now open up. From the main screen click on "Ad Blocking", then, in the right hand menu bar click on "turn off".

2. Zone Alarm Pro.

Please disable "Cookie Control" and "Ad Blocking". Disabling these features will NOT affect the workings of your firewall. Disable these 'features' by first double clicking on the Zone Alarm icon on your taskbar, then please click on the "Privacy" button, and then move the relevant sliding controls to the off position.

Additionally if you run any other ad blocking software you should disable it before logging in to your Cashbag account and visiting any of our advertiser’s websites, otherwise you run the risk of missing out on your cash back.

3. SpyBot, Adware & any programs alike

Insure the above software is not blocking advertising.com or servedby.advertising.com

A good tip by member 'largeaswife'.

if you don't use internet explorer like me (i use aol boooo! ) you can do the above stuff by clicking control panel then internet options and you can delete cookies, delete internet files and history from there ! clean your computer after every clicking session!

another good tip is make sure you turn off your pop up blocker as sites like 'search anything credit cards' dont seem to pay if your running a popupblocker!(well they don't for me) don't forget windows xp has its own pop up blocker which can be turned off by clicking control panel , internet options, privacy and uncheck the box !!!! aol has its own popupblocker too so imo its a good idea to turn them off or tell them to accept popups from the sites you are clicking if it has that feature!

another good tip is install one of those internet trace clean up programs! there are a few free ones floating about the internet and you usually allways get one bundled in these computer magazine disc freebie things you get with magazines like pc pro etc!
